The charging station's dynamic power distribution feature ensures that efficient charging is available to all vehicles that are charging simultaneously. In dynamic power distribution, the full charging capacity of the charging station is distributed between each charging point in a flexible way. If only one vehicle is charging at a charging station, it can be given the full capacity of the charging stations (within socket-specific limits). You can see the full capacity of the charging stations in ABC-mobiili - mobile app. Dynamic power distribution is used in Power Charging and High Power Charging Points. Normal Charging Points charge vehicles at a maximum power of 11 or 22 kW and you will need your own cable. Power Charging Points and High Power charging Points look similar. You can identify them by the markings on the charging station. They are suitable for full-electric vehicles and have a fixed charging cable. In Power Charging Points the maximum charging power is 100 kW, while at High Power Charging Points the maximum charging power is 200 kW.
What can I do if ABC charging does not start?
Make sure the charging station is on and available by checking that the screen displays the normal view. Also, make sure your smartphone is connected to the internet. If you cannot initiate charging in ABC-mobiili - mobile app, first check that the charging cable is connected correctly and pushed in firmly. If you are at a Normal Charging Point, check both ends of the cable. Make sure the cable has locked properly and try to initiate charging again in ABC-mobiili - mobile app. If this does not help, start over and try again. Will I need my own charging cable to charge my vehicle?
At a Normal Charging Point you will need a Type 2 charging cable. At Power Chargin and High Power Charging Points you will not need your own cable. These charging points have a few CCS connectors and a single CHAdeMo connector.
How do I know which cable is good for my vehicle?
Full-electric vehicles usually have a regular or CCS charging connector. Some EVs may also have the CHAdeMo connector. Plug-in hybrid vehicles usually use regular charging only. For Normal Charging you will need your vehicle's own Type 2 charging cable. This cable is normally delivered as a standard accessory in new EVs and usually also with plug-in hybrid vehicles. EVs usually come with two cables. One of the cables has a regular Schuko connector in one end. This cable cannot be used with ABC Charging Stations. Power Charging and High Power Charging Points always have fixed cables.
What is the difference between Normal, Power and High Power Charging Points?
The difference between the different charging stations is charging power and price. The prices are available in ABC-mobiili - mobile app. The Normal Charging Point is different from the other charging station types as you will need your own cable. You can identify different charging stations based on their markings. Normal Charging: 3.6–22 kW. Estimated charging time (80%) 3–10 hours. Power Charging: Up to 100 kW. Estimated charging time (based on demand) 15–120 minutes. High Power Charging: Up to 200 kW. Estimated charging time (based on demand) 10–45 minutes. Not all vehicles can use the full charging capacity of the charging station. If you are unsure which charging station type is compatible with your vehicle you should contact the seller of the vehicle.
Why is it slower to charge an EV during winter?
A cold battery charges slower than a warm battery. The phenomena is caused by battery chemistry: the ions in a cold battery move slower. Temperature has no effect on the charging station itself. You can make charging faster on cold weather by charging the vehicle when it is warm and the battery level is low. It is therefore advisable to charge the vehicle towards the end of your drive and charge it right after the drive (not after the break, for example).

How does the ABC charging congestion charge work?
The congestion charge is a minute-based charge that is applied after certain charging time has passed. The congestion charge will be applied 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes after you have started charging even if charging was still in progress or has ended. The congestion charge ends when the charging cable is disconnected from the vehicle. The congestion charge is only used at some charging stations. The congestion charge may be applied at all charging points of the charging station or just some of them.
